This is an excellent example of the iconic SMLE from World War 1. This is the Mk III* variant which was introduced in late 1915, incorporating several changes such as the deletion of the magazine cut-off mechanism and the simplified rear sight design. The bolt of this deactivated rifle is able to move as it should and the magazine is removable.
