~ Circa 1780 Irish Whitney Of Cork Manstopper Flintlock Pistol ~
The lock is engraved ‘Whitney’ and the top of the barrel ‘Cork’, with an engraved acorn tang behind it. The trigger guards and ramrod housing are of brass.
The walnut stock has a rounded un-chequered butt.
It comes with its original ramrod.
~ Condition ~
The pistol is in general excellent and tidy order.
The lock half cocks, cocks and releases with a strong spring.
There is a scarfed repair to the right hand side, just before the muzzle.

The pistol is 33 cm (13 inches) in length.
