*German, WW2, Wehrmacht Heer (Army), 1935 Pattern, Sport Shirt Insignia, Large*
This Wehrmacht Heer (Army) Sports Shirt Insignia is a standard issue, BeVo construction in white cotton. The machine-embroidered Wehrmacht Heer (Army) eagle, gripping a wreathed canted swastika, is in black and is set against a white backing. Measures 24.5cm wide x 12.5cm deep.
Emphasizing the physical well-being of its personnel, the Wehrmacht Heer provided new recruits with a sports uniform comprising a pullover “tank top” shirt, black shorts, athletic shoes, and a two-piece “sweat suit.” Regulations from October 22, 1932, introduced the Troop Sports Badge, placed at the front center of the sports shirt. On May 14, 1935, the M35 sports shirt eagle for EM/NCO’s replaced the previous Reichswehr-era Troop Sports Badge. NCO ranks were distinguished by a black stripe added around the neck of the sports shirt.
*Condition*
