~ Victorian Aesthetic Floral Jug With Silver Plated Mounts ~
A stunningly high quality jug of its type with a silver plated lid & collar, base stand and a gorgeous handle terminating in a love heart. The main body features hand painted bouquets of flowers over a crackle glaze finished. This rests over a cobalt blue floral base.
The inside of the lid is marked M W & S, electroplate and a pattern number of 5016. This refers to Mark Willis & Son of Sheffield. They were active at Exchange Works, 56 Fargate (1872-1881) and Tudor Place (1882-1885). In 1886 the firm changed its style in Mark Willis & Son at 207 Rockingham St and converted into a limited liability company in 1904. They went out of business in 1918.
~ Condition ~
The jug is in excellent condition, free from chips and cracks. The silver plate is excellent and virtually unworn. There are a few pin pricks to the base rim.

The jug is 23cm (9 inches) tall with a maximum diameter of 11cm (4.5 inches). It weighs 1.02 Kg.
