~ Late 19th Century Thomas Cox Savory Of London Twin Fusee Bracket Clock ~
This simple but elegantly cased bracket clock has a twin fusee movement and strikes on the hour.
The dial is named to Thomas Cox Savory, London on a brush steel face. The silver chapter ring bears Roman numerals.
The small top left dial is to regulate the speed, the top right dial is to set the chimes to on or silent.
It has bevelled glass panels to the front, sides and top and a brass grill to the reverse.
Its hammer strikes on a coil.
It comes with two keys, one for winding and one for opening the panels.

Primarily a retailer and silversmith, Thomas Cox Savory is recorded at 47 Cornhill, London in 1838 when he exhibited in his front window a mystery clock by Robert-Houdin. Loomes records him there 1851-1857 and also as having premises in Paris from the mid to late 19th Century.
~ Condition ~
The clock has been serviced and is in excellent working order. The case, dial and glass are all clean and tidy.
~ Dimensions ~
The clock is 26 cm (10 inches) tall, 20 cm (8 inches) wide and 18.5 cm (7.25 inches) deep. The dial is 12 cm (4.75 inches) in diameter.
