Genuine 2nd pattern commando knife and leather scabbard for sale. As one of 3 patterns uses in WW2, the 2nd pattern knife was adopted from August 1941-October 1943. These knives were used by specialist’s commando forces of the British and Commonwealth forces. This knife notably used a flat hand guard but still retained the brass textured grip. This one was made by Wilkinson Sword and has the crest on the upper blade.
*Condition*
The Fairbairn Sykes knife is in relatively good condition. There is some heavy pitting on the blade. For example, the makers mark seems to be produced by Wilkinson’s sword but it is difficult to verify due to pitting. The leather scabbard on the other hand is in very good condition. Please refer to the images as a part of our condition report.
